the need to work together and do whatever is necessary and act quickly was emphasized during the video conference on 10 March 2020. The need for a common European approach and close coordination with the European Commission was stressed. Health ministers and interior ministers should consult each other daily to ensure proper coordination and aim for common European guidelines.
during the meeting, information and practices were exchanged and 4 priorities were identified:
1) Limiting the spread of the virus.
2) Supply of medical equipment.
3) Promoting research, including for a vaccine.
4) Addressing the socio-economic consequences.
The Commission will closely monitor economic developments in the Union and take all necessary initiatives.
The European Council will return to this matter during the summit on 26-27 March to take any other necessary decisions.
