MIA, through the CNCPIC, supports the  public responsible authorities and ICN / ICE owners / operators / administrators by providing them with access to information on best practices and available methods, facilitating participation in coordinated actions by the European Commission in the field of training and exchange of information on new developments in PIC and organizes cooperation between national authorities responsible at national level as well as their collaboration and owners / operators / administrators of ICN / ICE with similar institutions in the Member States of the European Union European Commission, NATO and other international organizations and bodies with activities / attributions in the field.
 

C.N.C.P.I.C. has the following main tasks:

a) elaborates the draft PIC normative acts and the specific strategic planning documents, which it submits to the analysis of the representatives of the responsible public authorities represented in the inter-institutional working group for PIC, with a view to the subsequent initiation by the MIA of the legal procedures for approval and adoption ;

b) elaborates and updates the methodological norms for OSP implementation / equivalence / revision, the OSP framework structure and the responsibilities of the liaison officer for ICN / ICE security within the specialized structure designated at the level of the responsible public authorities and at the level of the ICN / ICE owners / operators / administrators, subject to the Prime Minister's approval, under the law;

c) support, at the request of the responsible public authorities, the process of developing sectoral PIC guidelines, rules, standards and standards;

d) elaborates, submits the debate within the interinstitutional working group on PIC and proposes for approval by decision of the Prime Minister the methodology for authorization of liaison officers for ICN / ICE security;

e) assess annually and whenever necessary, on the basis of data provided by the responsible public authorities, the risks, threats and vulnerabilities of the ICN / ECI and inform the Premier, through the appointed advisor, of the need to improve the level of protection of thereof;

f) provides the permanent technical secretariat of the interinstitutional working group on PIC;

g) elaborates and proposes for approval, by decision of the Prime Minister, the Annual Plan to verify the state of implementation of PIC legislation by the responsible public authorities and the owners / operators / administrators of ICN / ICE;

h) provides specialized advice to the responsible public authorities and designated owners / operators / ICN / ICE administrators, at their request;

i) monitors the state of play of PSOs at national level as well as their viability testing through exercises;

j) fulfills the role of designated department at M.A.I. under the conditions of Art. 8;

k) develops guidelines on how to implement Critical Infrastructure Protection Management.
