The 10 people carrying the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) and hospitalized in infectious diseases hospitals in Bucharest, Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța and Craiova are in good general health, and elderly patients and those with chronic diseases are carefully monitored.
Until today, March 9, 15 cases of citizens infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) were confirmed at the national level in Romania. Of the 15 citizens who contacted the virus, 5 are declared cured and have been discharged.
during today's day, until this time, no other people have been confirmed to be positively diagnosed with this virus.
On the territory of Romania, there are 27 people in institutionalized quarantine for whom checks are being carried out to detect whether they have contacted the COVID-19 (coronavirus) virus. Another 11,198 people are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring, the decrease compared to the last statistic being due to the exit of a significant number of people as a result of the completion of 14 days since this measure was taken.
Until now, 1010 samples have been taken and analyzed from people who arrived in Romania from areas affected by the infection with COVID-19 or people who came into contact with confirmed patients with this virus. Of these, 995 came out with a negative result, that is, the people from whom the analyzed samples were taken are not infected with the new coronavirus.
We inform you that, until now, 18 criminal cases have been registered for the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 para. 1 Criminal Code, in which 26 people are investigated.
We recall the decisions of the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations regarding the imposition of traffic restrictions from and to the states affected by the infection with COVID-19 and which came into force today, March 9, starting at 12:00 p. m. Until March 31 this year, with the possibility of extension:
Air travel to and from Italy is suspended. Air operators are also obliged to inform Romanian citizens who will board from Italy, China, Iran and South Korea to Romania, with a stopover, that they will enter quarantine or self-isolation on the territory of our country.
Airline operators have the obligation not to allow boarding of persons of other than Romanian citizenship who come to Romania, with a stopover, from Italy, China, Iran and South Korea.
Romanian citizens who arrive in the country through land border points coming from or after having previously traveled to Italy, China, Iran and South Korea enter institutionalized quarantine within the radius of the border county or home isolation, depending on the area they come from.
The access of foreign citizens coming to Romania from Italy, China, Iran, South Korea, regardless of the means of transport used, is allowed only with the mandatory condition of entering quarantine or self-isolation, as the case may be.
Cargo transports of at least 3.5 tons are exempted from the traffic restrictions imposed by the CNSSU decision of March 8 this year, regarding access to the territory of Romania.
The mentioned restrictions also apply to sea and river transport. The decisions listed above are valid until March 31 of this year, with the possibility of extension.
At the same time, starting from March 8, 2020, public or private demonstrations, in open or closed spaces, with a number of participants greater than 1000 people are prohibited.
This measure is mandatory, at the national level, for all public and private agents and is not subject to negotiation, exceptions, and cannot be postponed.
Events in which the participation of a smaller number of people is estimated can only be organized after obtaining approval from the local public health directorates.
and this decision is also valid until March 31, 2020 throughout the national territory of Romania and there is the possibility of extension, depending on the evolution of the situation.
in the same period, internships in hospitals will no longer be organized for medical and pharmacy students, except for volunteering situations in support of doctors.
Until March 31, relatives of patients cannot visit hospitals.
We remind citizens to consider only information verified through official sources and to call the TELVERDE line for recommendations and other information. Also, Romanian citizens abroad can request information about preventing and combating the virus at the line specially dedicated to them +4021.320.20.20.
Other decisions, which will be taken following the meetings of the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations, will be made known to the public as soon as possible.
